Acupuncture - what does it involve?

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a perspective of illness and health that is thousands of years old. Acupuncture is one of the therapeutic forms within this tradition.

The central issue in the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine is restoring the natural (energetic) balances in a human being. Acupuncture promotes more optimal balances and thus stimulates man’s self-healing capacity.

In concrete terms, treatment at Auryn Acupuncture consists of inserting needles into the skin: so-called body acupuncture. This treatment is based on the effort to stimulate more optimal balances with as little stimuli (and thus as few needles) as possible; to guide without forcing.

Read the description under Treatment to find out what a treatment session involves how often these take place and what the costs will be or click here.

A standard treatment can be supplemented and/or alternated with:

  • ear acupuncture, also know as auriculo therapy
  • moxibustion
  • cupping therapy

In addition to these techniques from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Serica therapy and Meridian Colour Therapy can be used as part of the treatment, if necessary.
