More about follow-up consultations
Every follow-up consultation begins with abriefdiscussion of your complaint, your general well-being and possible reactions to the treatment. Then I do another physical examination on the basis of which I decide upon the treatment. In addition to selecting acupuncture points, this also involves the application of moxa, cupping or band-aids.
The acupuncture treatment – the insertion of the needles – takes 20 to 40 minutes. During this period I will regularly check your pulse. When the needles have been removed the interstitial tissueexam will be repeated.
In all, a consultation takes 50 to 60 minutes.
Specific reactions to the treatment are effects that contribute to diminishing your complaints. These reactions are specific to your personal problems. General reactions can also occur.
Frequently occurring general reactions to acupuncture treatment include:
- relaxation,
- improved sleep,
- slight fatigue or a languid feeling,
- a warm feeling.
